Israel’s Hapoel Holon Beat Bosnia’s Igokea in Basketball Champions League

Israeli champions Hapoel Holon achieved a 103-79 home win over Bosnian champions KK Igokea in the FIBA Basketball Champions League on Wednesday evening.

Holon thus took a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series, with the second game to be played on January 10th in the city of Laktasi. The winner of the series will qualify for the round of 16.

The first quarter of the game, played at the Toto Arena in Israel’s central city of Holon, was dominated by the visitors, who took a 27-22 lead thanks to points by Nikola Tanaskovic.

However, C.J. Harris and Marvin Jones inspired the hosts to turn the game around and take a 57-47 lead at halftime.

Three-pointers by Hayden Dalton helped Holon increase the margin to 79-59 and all but secure the win when the third quarter ended 82-65.

Jones contributed 19 points for Holon, alongside 13 rebounds. Dalton scored 18 points, while his teammate Chris Johnson added 15. Antabia Waller scored game-high 21 points for Igokea.
