Kosovo Defense Minister Armend Mehaj resigned from his post due to family reasons.
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced that he accepted Mehaj’s resignation and that Colonel Ejup Maqedonci from the Kosovo Security Force was appointed to replace Mehaj.
Kurti said, “Today, at the request of Defense Minister Mehaj, I accepted his resignation. He asked to be excused from duty due to family reasons. I thanked Minister Mehaj for his continuous work, outstanding contributions, regular cooperation and exemplary dedication from the first day he took office,” he wrote.
Kurti also wished success to the new minister Maqedonci in his message.
The Kosovo media, on the other hand, claimed that the reason for Mehaj’s resignation was Kurti’s dissatisfaction with the course of relations with international partners.
