Investment firm RC Europe Group has initiated construction works on the largest logistics and production centre in Croatia, RC Zone Samobor project. Set to occupy 170,000 square meters in the Bobovica economic zone, the logistics centre will comprise a massive 86,000 square meters of leasable warehouse space. This versatile area will cater to a myriad of requirements, accommodating storage, production, and office operations as per the tenants’ needs.
Work on the centre, executed by respected construction contractor Facies, is scheduled for completion in late 2024. The project has already gained significant traction, with several prospective tenants signing contracts for the much-anticipated space, RC Europe said in a press release.
In line with the company’s ESG strategy and environmental commitments, the construction will adhere to green building practices, aiming for the coveted Breeam certification. A 7 MW solar photovoltaic power plant will be one of the key features of the centre, highlighting its commitment to sustainability.
Additional high-standard facilities will include charging stations, a modern employee canteen, and more. A prerequisite for the project’s initiation was the completion of an access road, incorporating a bridge, roundabout, bicycle lane, and public parking. The road, currently under the City of Samobor’s purview, connects the economic zone with the nearby A3 highway.
RC Europe also plans to further invest in the traffic infrastructure within the economic zone.
