Republic of Korea’s National Assembly Speaker Paying Official Visit to Bulgaria

The Speaker of the Republic of Korea’s National Assembly, Kim Jin-pyo, is paying an official visit to Bulgaria at the invitation of Parliament Chairman Rosen Zhelyazkov, the Bulgarian National Assembly’s press office said Sunday. He was welcomed upon his arrival in Sofia on Sunday by National Assembly Deputy Chair Rositsa Kirova.

“This is the first visit by a speaker of the Republic of Korea’s National Assembly to Bulgaria, and I hope it will be successful and will contribute to the development of both the political and economic ties between our countries,” Kirova said.

The visit will begin officially on Monday with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument to the Unknown Soldier in downtown Sofia. The guest will then hold a meeting with Zhelyazkov at the historical building of the National Assembly, followed by plenary talks between the sides’ MPs.

Kim Jin-pyo is also scheduled to meet with President Rumen Radev and Plovdiv Mayor Kostadin Dimitrov.
