SKOPLJE – NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said today that during his visit to the countries of the Western Balkans, he noticed that there are separatist tendencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a fragile security situation in Kosovo and Metohija, and a standstill in the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina.
At a press conference with the leaders of the countries of the Western Balkans, which are also members of NATO, he said that stability should be the basic aspiration of the countries in the region.
“This region is strategically important for NATO, but there are reasons for concern recently. It is time to overcome local conflicts, as well as to end the war in Ukraine,” he said.
