Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic claimed that a silent ethnic cleansing was carried out against Serbs in Kosovo .
Vucic announced that Serbia will demand an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council for the first time in its history due to the events in the north of Kosovo.
Parallel to Vucic’s statements, the Serbian Orthodox Church claimed that 2,000 Serb families had migrated from Kosovo in the last few months due to pressure from the Kosovo police.
After rising tensions in Kosovo recently between the Albanian- dominated government and the Serb minority living in northern Kosovo, Serbia has threatened Kosovo with military intervention.
This has caused concern, like the conflict between 1998 and 1999, in which more than 10,000 people, mostly Albanians, were killed.
