It has been a year since Vladimir Putin launched the “special military operation” which resulted in the invasion of Ukraine. In response, NATO notably launched the Aigle mission. In this context, a thousand French soldiers, including several dozen soldiers from overseas, are deployed in Romania, 25 km from the border with Ukraine. They must meet a triple challenge: geographical, climatic and emotional. Gervais Nitcheu and Mourad Bouretima followed them during a manoeuvre.
